Class Descriptions

Latin I
The Latin 1 class is an introduction to the Latin language, Roman history, culture, literature, and mythology.

Textbooks:

• Jenney's First Year Latin textbook
• The Metamorphoses by Ovid
• Ancient Rome: An Introductory History by Paul A. Zoch.

Latin II
Students continue learning about Latin language, Roman history, culture, literature, and mythology. Midway through the year Latin grammar will be completed and students will begin translating original Latin authors, primarily Julius Caesar.

• Ancient Rome: An Introductory History by Paul A. Zoch.

Upper Latin (Honors and Advanced Placement)
The Upper Latin class is an introduction to original Latin Literature.  The class shall follow the AP Latin Literature (Catullus-Cicero) syllabus.
